artist residency on the ithaca canal

this building is sited on the underutilated ithaca canal, and consists of lightweight walls populating a timber frame. exterior walls are semi-transparent and curved around the frame, exposing some of it on the facade. interior walls are movable to best suit the needs of the inhabitants. the program consists of studios, communal living spaces and private bedrooms with balconies facing the water. these units are all centralized around a lightwell running through the core of the building.
